They seem to have close range letal power (the window breaker tip) and a medium range pain debuff attack (might be useful for dogs and multiple attackers)
They are faster to deploy in combat than a collapsible baton and a stunt gun, more effective with single targets than pepper spray but less with multiple attackers, less range than a taser (but you only have one shot) and a powerful flashlight (but flashlights are only effective at night)
