Pre dating apps, my LTN friend had his first girlfriend at 16 and lost his virginity at 18. After that he received occasional attention from women. Whereas I am still a virgin into my 30s and have never been on a date.

Post dating apps, my LTN friend has had some success on the apps over the years. I've been on them all and got nowhere.

So as you can see real life mirrors dating apps.

I'm more outgoing than he is too and have a wider social circle. I also work harder, both at work and socially. So the idea that my lack of success in real life is related to social skills or laziness isn't accurate.

The problem is the tail of social media (especially Instagram). That's why froids have long since abandoned their requirements.

I've seen some claim that in real life a guy's social skills and body language can help overcome his physical shortcomings, but I've never seen evidence of that at all. Quite the opposite.

For some added poignancy, most people will reveal their true colors online because there is no backlash rather if they said it in real life; Dating apps is the "Freudian slip" of real life romance.
