Being proactive doesn't mean much if you are ugly.

Luck favors the prepared

For example:

If I didn't have a lot of easy to eat canned food I would have been really Hungary since I could barely move because injured.

Because I was proactive and saved money for an emergency, I had money for an emergency!

Because I am willing to go without luxuries, I can be slightly ahead of my necessary needs...

I act instead of react.

But there are unknowable unknowns. And all you CAN DO, is react to them. You can lesson there impact by being ready for the knowns.
