but if all men are photoshopping / frauding, then what?

how does a person compete with men who don't even exist?

They do it. Women usally do it even more. Nowadays people live their life online so it matters more once she tags you somewhere and your photos are hot. A foid would not even go out with a guy if her circle of friends deem his photos are not hot.
