What would you feel?
Option A: Genuine Happiness
Perhaps you’d feel a flicker of hope. “If he can do it, maybe there’s a chance for me.” You’d ask for a field report, for tips. His win would feel like a win for all of us.
Option B: Consuming Envy & Hatred
You’d feel your stomach turn to acid. You’d look at the post and feel nothing but white-hot rage and envy. “Why him and not me?” You’d hope she’s fat/ugly, or using him, or that she cheats. You even wish death upon him, or upon them both, because their happiness would be a living insult to your suffering. His escape would make your cage feel smaller.
If majority choose option B, it shows this is not a supportive group but a collective suicide pact. When one of us stops suffering, everyone sees him as a traitor who breached the perimeter, leaving the rest to rot.
