Serious How Do You Collect Your Thoughts?

I've been trying recently to collect my thoughts better, in an effort to try & resolve some issues I'm undergoing, as well as to also generally map my thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. better in order to ascertain a more nuanced understanding of my own self, the struggles I have, and what I can do about them.

What I currently like to do, is put on some kind of relaxing music of sorts, such as this:

And then just write what comes to mind-does anyone have any tips they could maybe share?

Maybe try writing down more or less detailed questions you want to ask yourself

I used to write in a journal and do a page a day or whensoever i felt like it. Now, I just talk in my head or aloud if i'm alone. I would try writing with a general thing in mind and see what you write on the page/pages
