In Praise of the Divine
Through poets' verses the faithful extol
Their Creator whose mercy enfolds.
High above all earthly powers enthroned,
God's sovereignty many souls behold.
By the name Allah God is known,
Source of guidance, blessing, love ever shown.
In sacred texts the Divine Being's made known
By devotees who walk faith's path alone.
The Quran's light, so some traditions tell,
Illuminates righteousness souls to bevelle.
For believers, God's Law they strive to propell
By justice, mercy, as scriptures foretell.
And when oppression arises anywhere,
Defenders of faith take up cause of prayer.
For freedom of worship they courageously dare,
That God's goodness may spread without compare.
