The reason I started reading The Book of Mormon is because Ted Bundy was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I don't like that it says Hell is sleep, the souls of the unjust are destroyed, it was a curse that the Lamanites were given black skin, cursed is him that mixeth his seed, wo unto the rich, those who have not been given the law are delivered from Hell, wo unto whores, God despiseth the rich, gentiles shall be numbered among the house of Israel, don't reconcile yourself to the will of the flesh, don't call evil good, Immanuel will eat butter and honey, Lucifer said he'll ascend above the clouds, Jerusalem shall be destroyed after the Messiah resurrects, the Messiah will be rejected by the Jews, the spirit of the Lord will not always strive with man, it seems Hell must be shaken so that people in it repent, all nations will write God's word, it's better to not know God, Nephi(I think) prays all are saved.

I like that it says if there's no happiness, there's no misery, God was merciful in sparing the Nephi's lives, the land covenanted to Nephi/Lehi will have liberty, the covenanted land will be kept from other nations, when they dwindle in unbelief other nations will be brought unto them, liberty and eternal life are chosen as a pair, God will give liberally to him that asketh, Nephi has a lot of siblings, the Nephites kept the commandments and multiplied, if you fight not against Zion and other things you will be saved, you cannot be saved if you don't have faith in Jesus, if you don't endure to the end you'll be damned, buy wine and milk without money, he who fighteth against Zion shall perish, wo unto the mighty that drink wine, God will shake the heavens in anger, the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned, men who commit priestcrafts which are not allowed don't support Zion, he denieth none that come unto him, Lucifer says there is no Hell, he that endureth to the end shall have eternal life, Nephi has charity for the Jew, he who doesn't respect the words of the Jews will be condemned.

Quotes I don't like:
O that ye would awake; awake from a deep a sleep, yea, even from the sleep of hell, and shake off the awful chains by which ye are bound, which are the chains which bind the children of men, that they are carried away captive down to the eternal gulf of misery and woe.
--
I don't like that this says you can wake up from Hell. Hell has no exit. I like Hell because I like the fear of death. Fearing death may prevent suicide. But I don't believe in Heaven. We have the problem that we need it to be said only Hell exists and not Heaven. To be honest though, I don't think it really matters. If Hell exists, perhaps it can be so scary you want to commit suicide in attempt of not sinning. There's also the problem that the existence of Hell may cause suicide because they'd want to not sin and go to Hell though suicide is the worst sin.

*****

That ye may not be a cursed with a sore cursing; and also, that ye may not incur the displeasure of a just God upon you, unto the destruction, yea, the eternal destruction of both soul and body.
--
I actually don't like this. I don't like the destruction of soul. If destruction happens, it doesn't exist anymore. Therefore it doesn't go to Hell. I want there to be Hell.

*****

wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.
--
This is racist, which I can't support. Being black is here a punishment. At church, I was told this was a metaphor though and not about actual skin color. I think this is referring to the Lamanites.

*****

And cursed shall be the seed of him that a mixeth with their seed;
for they shall be cursed even with the same cursing. And the Lord spake it, and it was done.
--
This seems racist. Is it against race mixing?

*****

But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world.
--
I don't like this.

*****

For the atonement satisfieth the demands of his justice upon all those who have not the law given to them, that they are delivered from that awful monster, death and hell, and the devil, and the lake of fire and brimstone, which is end-less torment; and they are restored to that God who gave them breath,
--
Is it saying those who don't know God's law will not go to Heaven? Cucked.

This also contradicts when it said earlier in the book that Hell is sleep. This says it's endless. That might be the good thing in this verse.

*****

Wo unto them who commit a whoredoms, for they shall be thrust down to hell.

*****

And whoso knocketh, to him will he open; and the wise, and the learned, and they that are rich, who are puffed up because of their learning, and their wisdom, and their riches—yea, they are they whom he despiseth

*****

the Gentiles shall be blessed and numbered among the house of Israel.
--
To be honest I don't like gentilism.

*****

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and the flesh;
--
I like the flesh. It's just the body. The body is life.

*****

Wo unto them that call evil good, and good evil, that put darkness for light, and light for dark-ness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
--
Didn't Jesus say this though. He said happy is he who is sad.

*****

Butter and a honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil and to choose the good.
--
This is cucked. Butter isn't vegan(nor is honey tbh but that's a bit different). This is referring to Immanuel/Jesus, the child born of a virgin.

*****

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.
--
I like Lucifer's confidence

*****

And behold it shall come to pass that after the Messiah hath risen from the dead, and hath manifested himself unto his people, unto as many as will believe on his name, behold, Jerusalem shall be destroyed again; for wo unto them that fight against God and the people of his church.
--
I assume Jerusalem has Jews. This is not based.

*****

Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews.
--
I like Jews.

*****

For the Spirit of the Lord will not always strive with man. And when the Spirit ceaseth to strive with man then cometh speedy destruction, and this grieveth my soul.
--
Does this mean you can go to Hell because the Spirit doesn't strive with you? So it's not your fault?

*****

For the kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unto repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stirred up to anger, and perish;
--
Is this saying people in Hell can escape it? Unless Earth is his kingdom.

*****

Nephites and they shall write it;
and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it.
--
What about Indians? Could this be saying India received revelations? Is their religion compatible with Christianity. That could be one interpretation of this verse. It literally says "all nations."

*****

and after this should deny me, it would have been better for you that ye had not known me.
--
This is along the lines when it said those who were ignorant will be saved. I don't like it.

*****

I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell.
--
It seems souls can be taken out of Hell.
*****

And I pray the Father in the name of Christ that many of us, if not all, may be saved in his a kingdom at that great and last day.
--
This is cucked. Is he saying he wants everyone in Heaven?

*****

Quotes I like:

And if there be no righteousness nor happiness there be no punishment nor misery.
--
This is proof Hell is real. I sort of like this. Heaven is proof of Hell.

*****

And he spake unto them concerning their a rebellions upon the waters, and the mercies of God in sparing their lives, that they were not swallowed up in the sea
--
Sparing life is indeed merciful. God was merciful in sparing Nephi's brethren's lives from being swallowed up by the sea. God values life.

*****

it shall be a land of liberty unto them; wherefore, they shall never be brought down into captivity;
--
I don't really like this. But it actually seems based because it paints the church as politically correct. This is the land God covenanted to Nephi(or Lehi Idk) and his children I think.

*****

if so, it shall be because of iniquity;
for if iniquity shall abound cursed shall be the land for their sakes, but unto the righteous it shall be blessed forever.
--
Is this saying liberty will be because of iniquity? I don't understand this. I don't really like liberty anyway

*****

Yea, he will bring other nations unto them, and he will give unto them power, and he will take away from them the lands of their possessions, and he will cause them to be scattered and smitten.
--
Immigration is a punishment. The implication is that immigration is bad. This is will happen if they "dwindle in unbelief."

*****

And behold, it is wisdom that this land should be a kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations; for behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance.
--
This is based. It's nationalism.

*****

And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great Mediator of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the devil; for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.
--
This lists slavery along with death. The people who would like this are the pro-lifers who draw comparisons between slavery and abortion, I guess.

*****

Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh.
--
The implication is that asking is good, but I wish it said that straightforwardly though. It's already in The Bible simplier, but I like this.

*****

and Jacob and Joseph, my younger brethren, and also my sisters, and all those who would go with me.
--
I like this because it's a large family. According to Google, "Nephi had six brothers named Laman, Lemuel, Sam, Jacob, and Joseph, plus at least two sisters."

*****

And we did observe to keep the judgments, and the statutes, and the commandments of the Lord in all things, according to the law of Moses.

...

And it came to pass that we began to prosper exceedingly, and to multiply in the land.
--
Based. The Nephites were fruitful and they were good people because they kept the commandments.

*****

And blessed are the Gentiles, they of whom the prophet has written; for behold, if it so be that they shall repent and fight not against Zion, and do not unite themselves to that great and abominable church, they shall be saved; for the Lord God will fulfil his covenants which he has made unto his children; and for this cause the prophet has written these things.
--
Zionism is based.

*****

And he commandeth all men that they must repent, and be baptized in his name, having perfect faith in the Holy One of Israel, or they cannot be saved in the kingdom of God.
--
I like this because other people like Hindus shouldn't be saved.

*****

And if they will not repent and believe in his name, and be baptized in his name, and endure to the end, they must be damned;
for the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has spoken it.
--
I actually like this because it may be pro-life. To "endure to the end" may mean to not give up on life and commit suicide

*****

Wo unto the a murderer who deliberately killeth, for he shall die.
--
This is one of my favorite quotes from The Book of Mormon though this is already in the Bible. Abortion is a form of murder.

*****

Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually-minded is life eternal.
--
Carnality is just the flesh. Nothing wrong with that. In a vague way, this implies that spirituality is pro-life. Eternal life is sort of different from the idea of Heaven which doesn't really exist though. What I think it actually means might be fornication though so this point is null. Idk though

*****

Come, my brethren, every one that a thirsteth, come ye to the waters; and he that hath no money, come buy and eat; yea, come buy wine and milk without money and without price.
--
Buying without money? Is that communism? I like communism. This is alcohol but I think wine is less of a big deal.

*****

Wherefore, he that a fighteth against Zion, both Jew and Gentile, both bond and free, both male and female, shall perish;
--
I like this because I like Zionism. I dislike this because it's sort of redundant. Everyone will perish, I think.

*****

In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments, and cauls, and round tires like the moon;

...

The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the ear-rings;
--
Some people say women shouldn't wear earrings, but I don't care. It's not mentioned here, but it's probably logical to also be against makeup too since they're superficial like the rest of the things mentioned here though who knows. A next verse says rings are bad too. But isn't that anti-marriage?

This is the day "the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched-forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet."

*****

Wo unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may a follow strong drink, that continue until night, and wine inflame them!

...

Wo unto the mighty to drink a wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
--
This is anti-alcohol. Based.

*****

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light; they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
Thou hast multiplied the nation, and increased the joy—they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
--
Who are these people? Joy and multiplication are correlated here.

*****

Therefore, I will a shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of Hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
--
I like that it seems Heaven will be punished. Heaven isn't permanent happiness though tbh I don't think it matters.

*****

And made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof, and opened not the house of his prisoners?
--
Are the prisoners people in Hell or actual prisoners. Satan doesn't release prisoners.

*****

the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.
--
The implication is that it is wanted for seed to be renowned. For this to be however, there must first be seed. So this is sort of a pro-natalist sentiment.

*****

I know that the Jews do understand the things of the prophets, and there is none other people that understand the things which were spoken unto the Jews like unto them, save it be that they are taught after the manner of the things of the Jews.
--
Well I like Jews. The first part is good but not the last part.

*****

all these things; yea, the founder of murder, and works of darkness;
--
Abortion, a form of murder, was founded by the devil

*****

He commandeth that there shall be no a priestcrafts; for, behold, priestcrafts are that men preach and set themselves up for a light unto the world, that they may get gain and praise of the world; but they seek not the welfare of Zion.

*****

he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.

*****

And behold, others he a flattereth away, and telleth them there is no hell;
--
This is actually a good verse because it contradicts when it said you can wake up from Hell

*****

Wo be unto him that crieth:
All is well!

*****

He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.
And now, my beloved brethren, I know by this that unless a man shall endure to the end, in following the example of the Son of the living God, he cannot be saved.

*****

Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.

*****

I have charity for the a Jew—I say Jew, because I mean them from whence I came.
--
This is Nephi talking.

*****

And you that will not partake of the goodness of God, and respect the words of the Jews, and also my words, and the words which shall proceed forth out of the mouth of the Lamb of God, behold, I bid you an everlasting farewell, for these words shall condemn you at the last day.
--
Judaism is based.

Somethings I like or don't like I'm still not sure of. I'm not going to look this list over again and edit it though.

I don't like that is says it was wicked that the people of Nephi were wicked for polygamy, Jacob says you should only have one wife, whoredoms are an abomination, it says you can loose yourself from the pains of hell, Jews were a stiff necked people, God makes sinners stumble, the world shall be burned with fire, Sherem is a wicked man even after he became a Christian, the Lamanites couldn't be restored to truth.

I like that it says the Lamanites are more righteous than the Nephites, men may seek riches to help their fellowmen, before he seek riches seek the kingdom of God, Lamanites skin will be whiter than the Nephites if Nephites don't repent, do not revile against them for their dark skins, these words are written so that people can learn with joy,

Quotes I didn't like:

And now it came to pass that the people of Nephi, under the reign of the second king, began to grow hard in their hearts, and indulge themselves somewhat in wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many a wives and con-cubines, and also Solomon, his son.
--
This is cucked. I thought LDS was polygynous.

*****

Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
--
This is Jacob talking.

*****

For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.

*****

Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.

*****

O my brethren, hearken unto my words; arouse the faculties of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the pains of hell that ye may not become angels to the devil, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death.
--
I don't like it because it says you can loosen yourself from the pain of Hell. It's supposed to be permanent. And isn't he saying this to live people? Is this like the song that says "home can be heaven on earth?" Hell is supposed to be real.

*****

But behold, the Jews were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not under-stand.
--
This is antisemitic. I'm Jewish.

*****

God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.
--
This just seems evil of God to make people stumble.
*****

Know ye not that if ye will do these things, that the power of the redemption and the resurrection, which is in Christ, will bring you to stand with a shame and awful guilt before the bar of God?
--
This contradicts when it said it's wanted to learn in joy Jacob 4:3

*****

the world shall be burned with fire.
--
I don't like fire as Hell. I'd rather Hell be like Guantanamo bay though IDK about Guantanamo bay.

*****

And it came to pass that peace and the love of God was restored again among the people; and they searched the scriptures, and hearkened no more to the words of this wicked man.
--
This is evil. It says Sherem's evil even though he came around to Christ.

*****

And it came to pass that many means were devised to a reclaim and restore the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth; but it all was vain, for they delighted in wars and bloodshed, and they had an eternal hatred against us, their brethren. And they sought by the power of their arms to destroy us continually.
--
Perhaps this is why they have black skin

*****

Quotes I like:

Behold, the Lamanites your brethren, whom ye hate because of their filthiness and the cursing which hath come upon their skins, are more righteous than you; for they have not forgotten the commandment of the Lord, which was given unto our father—that they should have save it were one wife, and concubines they should have none, and there should not be whoredoms committed among them.

*****

Men may seek riches to help their fellowmen

*****

But before ye seek for riches, seek ye for the kingdom of God.
And after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good
--
I like this because it says it's okay to be rich. What I don't like is that it says you should seek Christ before riches. Perhaps this contradicts The Bible when it it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of the needle.

*****

O my brethren, I fear that unless ye shall repent of your sins that their skins will be a whiter than yours, when ye shall be brought with them before the throne of God.
--
I like this because it repeats the idea that black skin is a curse.

*****

Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, which is the word of God, that ye revile no more against them because of the darkness of their skins; neither shall ye revile against them because of their filthiness; but ye shall remember your own filthiness, and remember that their filthiness came because of their fathers.
--
This is not racist. This debunks the myth that it's racist. What I don't like is that it says you shouldn't revile against them because of their filthiness.

*****

And now I, Jacob, spake many more things unto the people of Nephi, a warning them against fornication and lasciviousness, and every kind of sin, telling them the awful consequences of them.
--
In The Bible, fornication is translated from porneia which includes homosexuality.

*****

Now in this thing we do rejoice;
and we labor diligently to engraven these words upon plates, hoping that our beloved brethren and our children will receive them with thankful hearts, and look upon them that they may learn with joy and not with sorrow, neither with contempt, concerning their first a parents.
--
Perhaps not feeling joy when you read the book is a sign you didn't interpret it correctly.

*****

And it came to pass that he began to preach among the people, and to declare unto them that there should be no Christ.
--
This is Sherem. There being a Christ was actually bad because wasn't it prophesied he would be killed? I guess he was proven wrong though.

*****

And ye have led away much of this people that they pervert the right way of God, and keep not the law of Moses which is the right way; and convert the law of Moses into the worship of a being which ye say shall come many hundred years hence. And now behold, I, Sherem, declare unto you that this is blasphemy; for no man knoweth of such things; for he cannot tell of things to come. And after this manner did Sherem contend against me.
--
Jacob was spoken to by an angel though. There were also prophets that foretold of Christ apparently including Jacob (Jacob 7:12) Though it makes my point look better that he likes the law of Moses.
7:12:
And this is not all—it has been made manifest unto me, for I have heard and seen; and it also has been made manifest unto me by the a power of the Holy Ghost; where-fore, I know if there should be no atonement made all mankind must be b lost.

*****

If there should be a Christ, I would not deny him; but I know that there is no Christ, neither has been, nor ever will be.

*****

I like that it says whatsoever you ask ye shall receive, the Nephites multiplied, it predicted Jesus would be born of Mary in 124 BC, salvation can't come through any other name other than Christ, king Mosiah kept God's commandments, Limhi's people were slaves to the Lamanites, Zeniff saw the Lamanites were good, Zeniff's people multiplied, Nephi was more faithful than the Lamanites, Abinadi says the people of King Noah become slaves if they don't repent, king Noah's people claims to follow the law of Mosiah(bc they're polygamous), Jesus had no beauty, Alma believed the words of Abinadi, Lamanites didn't slay the people of Limhi because their daughters were fair, the Lamanites taxed the people of Limhi, the priests of Noah got the daughters of the Lamanites, the people of Limhi were blamed for what Noah's priests did, Alma said to love thy neighbor before Jesus, of Alma's people only men were consecrated, Alma's people multiplied in Helam, the Lamanites' hearts were softened(though tbh they weren't good since they delighted in wars and bloodshed according to the book of Jacob) against the people of Alma and the Lamanites made them slaves, the Lamanites were friendly one with another, the people of Amulon race mixed with Lamanite women, Mosiah granted Alma to establish churches in Zarahemla, the people of Mosiah multiplied, Mosiah said believers shouldn't be persecuted, and the vilest of sinners(Lamanites) were saved.

I didn't like that Amulon gave the death penalty to those who pray, the Lamanites were bad because they fed upon beasts of prey but not other meat, the Lamanites went to war with the Nephites, the Lamanites loved murder despite being numerous, if you don't keep the commandments you won't prosper, Abinadom killed Lamanites, the Lamanites destroyed almost all the Nephites, king Benjamin's people destroyed thousands of Lamanites, adultery is bad, Benjamin says they shouldn't be laden with taxes, you are forever indebted to God, ye are unprofitable servants, those who are faithful are received into heaven, those who have ignorantly sinned are atoned for by Christ, man will be judged according to his works, humans are unworthy creatures, our substance doesn't belong to us but to God, impart your substance to the poor, return to those you borrow from, only little children entered into the covenant with Christ, God will set stumbling blocks for sinners, the Lamanites have hatred for the Nephites, Noah had many wives and whores, the Lamanites slayed Noah's people, you shouldn't work on the seventh day, it says incorrectly Jesus offered his soul, little children have eternal life, fear God, Noah imprisons Abinadi, you should impart your substance of your own free will, Lamanites slew Limhi's people, Limhi's people wanted to escape slavery, Alma says having a king is bad(democracy is good), younger Alma was wicked, sons of Mosiah sought to destroy the church, the sons of Mosiah wanted everyone to be saved, the voice of the people does not desire anything contrary to what is right, lucre corrupts the soul, the Lord chastened the people of Alma

What I like:

Whatsoever thing ye shall ask in faith, believing that ye shall receive in the name of Christ, ye shall receive it.

*****

And we multiplied exceedingly, and spread upon the face of the land,
--
I think this is the Nephites.

*****

there is nothing which is good save it comes from the Lord: and that which is evil cometh from the devil.
--
Jesus said no one's good. Yet if we come from God then we must be good. God made us.

*****

prophets, from Jacob down to the reign of this king Benjamin, and also many of the words of Nephi.
--
These were the good people.
*****

And now I say unto you, that a mercy hath no claim on that man;
therefore his final doom is to endure a never-ending torment.
--
This is regarding those who don't repent.

*****

And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.
--
This was written 124 BC. It was an accurate prediction. Proof this book is true.

*****

And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.
--
I like this because I don't like other religions, especially pajeets. They won't be saved.
*****

I would that ye say in your hearts that: I give not because I have not, but if I had I would give.
--
I like this because it's saying okay to not give if you don't have. But I think you shouldn't even give even if you do have.

*****

And it came to pass that king Mosiah did walk in the ways of the Lord, and did observe his judgments and his statutes, and did keep his commandments in all things what-soever he commanded him.
--
Therefore he was a good person.

*****

For behold, we are in bondage to the Lamanites, and are a taxed with a tax which is grievous to be borne.
--
I'm pro-taxation. This is about Limhi's people. But the Lamanites are based for being slaveowners.

*****

having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them—but when I saw that which was good among them I was desirous that they should not be destroyed.
--
Zeniff is saying this. I don't get it. I thought they were bad because they couldn't be restored to true faith(in the book of Jacob). The Lamanites owned slaves so perhaps this is proslavery.

*****

And we began to till the ground, yea, even with all manner of seeds, with seeds of corn, and of wheat, and of barley, and with neas, and with sheum, and with seeds of all manner of fruits; and we did begin to multiply and prosper in the land.
--
I think this is the people of Zeniff. Multiplication is good.

*****

Nephi was more faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord
--
More than the Lamanites. This sort of contradicts when it said the Lamanites were more righteous(book of Jacob)

*****

Abinadi; and he went forth among them, and began to prophesy,
--
He says they'll become slaves if they don't repent.

*****

And they said: We teach the law of Moses.
--
The chapter summary says this is a lie, but what if it's not? I think this is the people of Noah. I like them because they're polygamous.

*****

he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him there is no beauty that we should desire him.
--
Is this Jesus? So he was ugly. He was an incel.

*****

The Father, because he was conceived by the power of God;
and the Son, because of the flesh;
thus becoming the Father and Son—
--
Is this defining Father as someone who is conceived by God? Then aren't we all Gods. This could be like Psalms 82:6.

*****

Alma, he also being a descendant of Nephi. And he was a young man, and he believed the words which Abinadi had spo-ken,
--
Therefore Alma was a good person

*****

And it came to pass that those who tarried with their wives and their children caused that their fair daughters should stand forth and plead with the Lamanites that they would not slay them.
And it came to pass that the Lamanites had compassion on them, for they were charmed with the beauty of their women.
--
Despite being black, they seem based. They forgave them because they're white. This is the people of Limhi

*****

Therefore the Lamanites did spare their lives, and took them captives and carried them back to the land of Nephi, and granted unto them that they might possess the land, under the conditions that they would deliver up king Noah into the hands of the Lamanites, and deliver up their property, even one half of all they possessed, one half of their gold, and their silver, and all their precious things, and thus they should pay tribute to the king of the Lamanites from year to year.
--
This is actually good. Taxation is good. The Lamanites are based.

*****

And when there were but few of them gathered together to dance, they came forth out of their secret places and took them and carried them into the wilderness; yea, twenty and four of the daughters of the Lamanites they carried into the wilderness.
--
This is based. Race mixing is good as Zephaniah Kingsley said. The priests of Noah did this.

*****

Behold, my people have not broken the oath that I made unto you; therefore, why should ye break the oath which ye made unto my people?
--
It's actually funny that the people of Limhi were blamed for it.

*****

And they did humble themselves even to the dust, subjecting themselves to the yoke of bondage, submitting themselves to be smit-ten, and to be driven to and fro, and burdened, according to the desires of their enemies.
--
So Limhi's people became slaves. This goes to show black people are slaveowners too, not just whites.

*****

Thus did Alma teach his people, that every man should a love his neighbor as himself, that there should be no
contention among them.
--
Didn't Jesus say this? Jesus just repeated things that were said years before. This was said before Christ.

*****

none were consecrated except they were just men.
--
Only men. I guess that's based. This is the people of Alma.

*****

And it came to pass that they did multiply and prosper exceedingly in the land of Helam; and they built a city, which they called the city of Helam.
--
This is the people of Alma.

*****

Now the name of the leader of those priests was a Amulon.
--
Amulon is actually hero because the priests of Noah got women (chapter 20).

*****

And it came to pass that the Lord did soften the hearts of the Lamanites. And Alma and his brethren went forth and delivered themselves up into their hands; and the Lamanites took possession of the land of Helam.
--
This is because the Lamanites are good people. He earlier forgave them for being white in my interpretation:

And it came to pass that the Lamanites had compassion on them, for they were charmed with the beauty of their women.

This is for the people of Alma. It seems his people became slaves to the Lamanites
*****

And they were a people friendly one with another; nevertheless they knew not God; neither did the brethren of Amulon teach them anything concerning the Lord their
--
I think this is talking about the Lamanites with teachers who are the brethren of Amulon. They're friendly, so they have to be good. I actually don't believe they didn't know God so that doesn't make sense.

*****

And it came to pass that those who were the children of Amulon and his brethren, who had taken to wife the daughters of the Lamanites, were displeased with the conduct of their fathers, and they would no longer be called by the names of their fathers, therefore they took upon themselves the name of Nephi, that they might be called the children of Nephi and be numbered among those who were called Nephites.
--
This is race mixing

*****

And it came to pass that after Alma had taught the people many things, and had made an end of speaking to them, that king Limhi was desirous that he might be baptized;
--
Alma and Limhi were good people.

*****

And it came to pass that king Mosiah granted unto Alma that he might establish churches through-out all the land of Zarahemla; and gave him power to ordain priests and teachers over every church.
--
I guess Mosiah was a good person. This is a mundane quote though.

*****

Now it came to pass that there were many of the rising generation that could not understand the a words of king Benjamin, being little children at the time he spake unto his peo-ple; and they did b not believe the tradition of their fathers.
--
I guess King Benjamin was a good person

*****

Thou art my servant; and I covenant with thee that thou shalt have eternal life; and thou shalt serve me and go forth in my name, and shalt gather together my sheep.
--
This is said to Alma

*****

And there began to be much peace again in the land; and the people began to be very numerous, and began to scatter abroad upon the face of the earth, yea, on the north and on the south, on the east and on the west, building large cities and villages in all quarters of the land.
--
This is the people of Mosiah.

*****

And it came to pass that king Mosiah sent a proclamation through-out the land round about that there should not any unbeliever perse-cute any of those who belonged to the church of God.
--
Mosiah was good.

*****

mercy hath seen fit to snatch me out of an everlasting burning, and I am born of God.

*****

And thus did the Spirit of the Lord work upon them, for they were the very vilest of sinners. And the Lord saw fit in his infinite mercy to spare them; nevertheless they suffered much anguish of soul because of their iniquities, suffering much and fearing that they should be cast off forever.
--
This is cucked. But I sort of like the idea that all are saved. If even the vilest of sinners are saved, so is anybody else.

*****

What I don't like:

And Amulon commanded them that they should stop their cries; and he put guards over them to watch them, that whosoever should be found calling upon God should be put to death.
--
This is like when they arrested Isabel Vaughan Spruce for praying near an abortion center. This is the people of Alma.

*****

And it came to pass that after I had a prayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy b desires, because of thy faith.
--
Honestly, I don't like this. It sounds like schizophrenia. God doesn't talk to you.

*****

And I bear record that the people of Nephi did seek diligently to a restore the Lamanites unto the true faith in God. But our labors were vain; their hatred was fixed, and they were ... feeding upon beasts of prey;
... And many of them did eat nothing save it was raw meat;
...
And it came to pass that the people of Nephi did ... raise all manner of ... flocks of herds, and flocks of all manner of cattle of every kind, and goats, and wild goats, and also many horses.
--
Unfortunately this isn't vegan enough. The implication is that it's okay to eat animals that aren't beasts of prey.

*****

And I saw a wars between the Nephites and Lamanites in the course of my days.
--
The Lamanites were bad people.
*****

And they were scattered upon a much of the face of the land, and the Lamanites also. And they were exceedingly more numerous than were they of the Nephites; and they loved murder and would drink the blood of beasts.
--
So fertility is associated with crime here. Bad. I like fertility. I think this is talking about the Lamanites.

*****

Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall not prosper in the land.
--
Does this mean not prospering is a sign you're not Christian? That's not necessarily the case. Jesus basically said to not prosper.

*****

I, with my own sword, have taken the lives of many of the Lamanites in the defence of my brethren.
--
Abinadom was a bad person. Murder is bad.

*****

And behold, I have seen, in the days of king Benjamin, a serious war and much bloodshed between the Nephites and the Lamanites.

*****

And now I, Mormon, being about to deliver up the record which I have been making into the hands of my son Moroni, behold I have witnessed almost all the de-struction of my people, the Nephites.
--
The Lamanites were bad for destroying the people of a prophet.

*****

And in the a strength of the Lord they did contend against their enemies, until they had slain many thousands of the Lamanites.
--
Nobody should be destroyed in my opinion. This is about king Benjamin's people.

*****

Yea, and moreover I say unto you, that if this highly favored people of the Lord should fall into a transgression, and become a wicked and an adulterous people, that the Lord will deliver them up, that thereby they become weak like unto their brethren; and he will no more preserve them by his matchless and marvelous power, as he has hitherto preserved our fathers.
--
I like adultery. Jesus defended an adulteress. He said to cast the first stone against her if you're free of sin. Nobody was free of sin, so no sin was cast. I think this is talking about the people of Mosiah or Benjamin.

*****

Neither have I suffered that ye should be confined in dungeons, nor that ye should make slaves one of another, nor that ye should murder, or plunder, or steal, or commit adultery;
--
Slavery isn't bad. This is cucked. I think this is Benjamin talking.

*****

And even I, myself, have a labored with mine own hands that I might serve you, and that ye should not be laden with taxes, and that there should nothing come upon you which was grievous to be borne— and of all these things which I have spoken, ye yourselves are witnesses this day.
--
I like taxation. This is Benjamin talking.

*****

And now, in the first place, he hath created you, and granted unto you your lives, for which ye are indebted unto him

...And secondly, he doth a require that ye should do as he hath com-manded you; for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you; and therefore he hath paid you. And ye are still indebted unto him, and are, and will be, forever and ever;
therefore, of what have ye to boast?
--
I don't think you're in debt.
*****

if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
--
Unprofitable sounds like worthless.

*****

And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it
--
I don't like Heaven.
*****

For behold, and also his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the will of God concerning them, or who have ignorantly sinned.
--
This is cucked. Why are sinners allowed into Heaven?

*****

And behold, when that time cometh, none shall be found blameless before God, except it be little children, only through repentance and faith on the name of the Lord God Omnipotent.
--
I actually disagree with this. Children can't be saved. That's a pro-abortion myth

*****

And thus saith the Lord: They shall stand as a bright testimony against this people, at the judgment day; whereof they shall be judged, every man according to his a works, whether they be good, or whether they be evil.
--
Works? I actually think I like soda fide. But I'm not sure.

*****

you, unworthy creatures

*****

And if ye a judge the man who putteth up his petition to you for your substance that he perish not, and condemn him, how much more just will be your condemnation for withholding your substance, which doth not belong to you but to God, to whom also your life belongeth;
and yet ye put up no petition, nor repent of the thing which thou hast done.
--
Our substance doesn't belong to us now.

*****

But I say unto you, O man, whosoever doeth this the same hath great cause to repent; and except he repenteth of that which he hath done he perisheth forever, and hath no interest in the kingdom of God.
--
Altruism is bad.

*****

I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man accord-ing to that which he hath,
--
This is sort of like the communist verse "from each according to his ability" except worse.

*****

And I would that ye should remember, that whosoever among you borroweth of his neighbor should return the thing that he borroweth, according as he doth agree, or else thou shalt commit sin; and perhaps thou shalt cause thy neighbor to commit sin also.
--
You're supposed to give away all your possessions yet other people can have enough to lend things.

*****

And it came to pass that there was not one soul, except it were little children, but who had entered into the covenant and had taken upon them the name of Christ.
--
I don't like that it seems so few people seem eligible for salvation.

*****

And it came to pass when they had been in prison two days they were again brought before the king, and their bands were loosed; and they stood before the king, and were permitted, or rather commanded, that they should answer the questions which he should ask them.
--
This book is so boring that I have to annotate mundane things like this. I'm annotating this because prison is bad. I think this is Ammon and his brethren who were imprisoned by Limhi.

*****

For behold, the Lord hath said:
I will not a succor my people in the day of their transgression; but I will hedge up their ways that they prosper not; and their doings shall be as a stumbling block before them.
--
I like Hell but for some reason I don't like this. God should help them to not sin

*****

And it came to pass that we did drive them again out of our land;
and we slew them with a great slaughter, even so many that we did not number them.
--
This is Zeniff's people against the Lamanites. It contradicts when it says they saw them as good.

*****
Noah had many wives but promoted sin,
And thus they have taught their children that they should hate them, and that they should murder them, and that they should rob and plunder them, and do all they could to destroy them; therefore they have an eternal hatred towards the children of Nephi.
--
This is the Lamanites. Hatred is bad.

*****

For behold, he did not keep the commandments of God, but he did walk after the desires of his own heart. And he had many wives and concubines. And he did cause his people to commit sin, and do that which was abominable in the sight of the Lord. Yea, and they did commit whoredoms and all manner of wickedness.
--
This is Noah, son of Zeniff.

*****

And it came to pass that he placed his heart upon his riches, and he spent his time in a riotous living with his wives and his concubines; and so did also his priests spend their time with harlots.
--
This is Noah son of Zeniff. I don't see what's wrong with harlotry and polygyny.

*****

And it came to pass that the Lamanites began to come in upon his people, upon small numbers, and to slay them in their fields, and while they were tending their flocks.
--
This is war between the Lamanites and Noah.

*****

And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly a destroy them from off the face of the earth;
--
I don't like this because the people of Noah were polygamous.

*****

And it came to pass that king Noah caused that Abinadi should be cast into prison; and he com-manded that the priests should gather themselves together that he might hold a council with them what he should do with him.
--
Abinadi was a prophet.

*****

the seventh day, the sab-bath of the Lord thy God, thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man- servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
--
This is cucked. Jesus worked on the Sabbath.

*****

He makes His soul an offering for sin and makes intercession for transgressors
--
I don't think that Jesus sacrificed himself. For example I think the day before he said Why has God forsaken me? He also argued with the people. He also sweated blood. It's proof he didn't look forward to it.

*****

And these are those who have part in the first resurrection; and these are they that have died before Christ came, in their ignorance, not having a salvation declared unto them. And thus the Lord bringeth about the restoration of these; and they have a part in the first resurrection, or have eternal life, being redeemed by the Lord.
--
How were they ignorant if they were prophets or people who believed. Is it defining ignorance as dying before Christ came? I don't like that it seems to imply ignorance is forgivable.

*****

And little children also have eternal life.
--
I only think infants who were baptized are eligible to go to Heaven. I know LDS don't believe in infant baptism though

*****

But behold, and fear, and tremble before God, for ye ought to tremble
--
Jacob said, "learn with joy and not with sorrow." This contradicts it. Which is it? Fear or joy? I don't have much of an opinion but I don't think God should be feared.

*****

And it came to pass that the king caused that his guards should surround Abinadi and take him; and they bound him and cast him into prison.
--
I guess King Noah was a bad person. Abinadi was a prophet.

*****

to him that had not should be given.
--
I don't like this.

*****

And thus they should impart of their a substance of their own free will and good desires towards God, and to those priests that stood in need, yea, and to every needy, naked soul.
--
By their own free will means you have the option. Except it's not really an option.

*****

And it came to pass that the Lamanites did beat them, and drove them back, and a slew many of them.
--
This is the people of Limhi. This is bad of the Lamanites.

*****

And now it came to pass that Ammon and king Limhi began to consult with the people how they should a deliver themselves out of bondage;
--
It's bad the people of Limhi want to escape slavery.

*****

Ye shall a not esteem one flesh above another, or one man shall not think himself above another; therefore I say unto you it is not expedient that ye should have a king.
--
This is Alma talking.

*****

And it came to pass that so great was their faith and their patience that the voice of the Lord came unto them again, saying: Be of good comfort, for on the morrow I will deliver you out of bondage.
--
The problem is that this implies slavery was bad. Slavery is good. Amulon enslaved Alma and his people.

*****

And whomsoever ye receive shall believe in my name; and him will I freely
--
To be honest, believing seems difficult. How can you even be a believer? You'd need to do everything Jesus said, and much of what he said is basically suicide like giving your possessions away.

*****

Now the sons of Mosiah were numbered among the a unbelievers;
and also one of the sons of Alma was numbered among them, he being called Alma, after his father; never-theless, he became a very wicked and an idolatrous man. And he was a man of many words, and did speak much flattery to the people;
therefore he led many of the people to do after the manner of his iniquities.

*****

And now it came to pass that while he was going about to a destroy the church of God, for he did go about secretly with the sons of Mosiah seeking to destroy the church,
--
Mosiah's sons were bad.

*****

Now they were desirous that salvation should be declared to every creature, for they could not a bear that any human soul should per-ish; yea, even the very thoughts that any soul should endure endless torment did cause them to quake and tremble.
--
The sons of Mosiah are cucked. They want everyone even unrepentant sinners to be saved.

*****

And were it not for the interposition of their all-wise Creator, and this because of their sincere repentance, they must unavoidably remain in bondage until now.
--
Emancipation is cucked. I think this is talking about the people of king Noah.

*****

Now it is not common that the a voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right
--
Democracy is bad.

*****

And they did wax strong in love towards Mosiah; yea, they did esteem him more than any other man; for they did not look upon him as a a tyrant who was seeking for gain, yea, for that lucre which doth corrupt the soul;
--
Lucre does not corrupt the soul.

*****

Nevertheless the Lord seeth fit to chasten his people; yea, he trieth their patience and their faith.
