Hole's best years are bogged down in education so they don't want more mental work than they're assigned. Then they need to experience much because they don't learn by example. At some point, she will have exhausted the stimulation potential of her routine, and would actually like to have an "adult conversation," but she would be over the age of fertility by now. Later, her own mental decline from aging will make new stimulation again undesired. This effectively means the window for having perceived intelligence be an asset is very narrow, but probably peaks when she's about 40.
