I'll make this poll private as I think it's a bit more personal than many others I've started.

no, the only thing the world wants is for me to disappear

no and never will

It's hard to say, but I'd say no, and I don't really care that much about it now. I found out that I was unwanted in my teens, so that crushed my delusions. But in terms of wanting to serve a purpose, that has always been there, though I doubt I'd make any lasting contributions. I'm just another meaningless speck in this world.

I feel like my dad genuinely cares about me, and to some extent my employer. However, the void of emptiness is incapacitating :feelsrope:

Most people seem to be saying never but lots say the same thing as me that they only really feel unwanted as an adult, but didn't when they were younger.

When I was younger I felt wanted by my family, our social lives, at school, etc. I felt embedded within a life instead of having to DIY everything from scratch in a world that if anything seems to want to push me away (think how many jobs you have to apply for before you get one).

Conversely women tend to have their "world" crafted for them by their boyfriend/husband. They don't usually do it themselves.

such a feeling is just an illusion, a consequence of the fact that the child is cared for by his parents and other adults are kind to him, so it seems to him that he is special and has a purpose.

True, plus you're given a purpose directly due to education being compulsory.

You're basically given a family and a "job" on a plate for no effort.

You could say that you're not the head of the household so it's not the same, but neither are most women in families tbh.

The Chad that chose the second option :chad::chad::chad::chad:

No not really

They want me to slave away in the workforce for absolutely no pay off
