Hard of hearing, almost 30, never had a girlfriend

Hey everyone, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm turning 30 this June and I've never had a girlfriend. I'm 6'1", normal build, just an average guy. I'm not completely deaf, I wear hearing aids, but they don't make me hear like a normal person. Sounds are still distorted and complicated for me. When I mention this to women during conversations, they usually start keeping their distance right away. To be honest, I'm surprised there aren't more incels in the deaf/hard of hearing community. You'd think with these extra barriers there would be way more guys in the same situation, but I haven't really seen or heard much about it. Anyone else going through something similar or have any thoughts?

I was born with severe hearing loss. I use hearing aids, I can pick up sounds like cars or music, but speech is really hard for me. Voices get all mixed up, so I can’t talk on the phone or understand TV.

Rather than hearing loss, you might get a tinnitus, which is worse.

As long as the headphone output on whatever device you use isn't too strong keeping your volume at 100% is fine. Depending on how demanding your earphones are 100% might just be what they need to reach an acceptable level. But if it is truly loud you should hold back on that, because hearing loss and tinnitus are not things you want. Take care of your ears brocel, because one pair is all you'll ever get.

How bad is ur deafness, is it anywhere severe?

I can only somewhat understand people when it’s face to face and they speak slowly, and even then it’s not 100%. Women don’t really seem interested in deaf guys, they find it boring and tend to prefer men without hearing issues.

I lost hope in my mid-20s, and over time it started to hurt. I started being influenced by people like Elliot Rodger.

It's a debuff for sure, but a negligible one. Autism on the other hand is a huge debuff and it's underestimated on here.
