And btw, V for vendetta is a shit comic and shit movie, and Alan Moore is a woke, pretentious, hypocritical, overrated writer

The celebration is in two days, not today

Monarchist propaganda is deeply rooted in our society.

Technically, the UK is a republic because the modern royal family hold little power, their pretty much national mascots

Remember, remember the fifth of November

We could do with another parliament blow up

Guy Fawkes is just celebrated in England is it not? I never heard of it being celebrated in Northern Ireland even among the Protestants.

The northern Irish are not English

Growing up in the 1970s every neighborhood had a large bonfire that would be built in the weeks before. If you were lucky it wouldn't get burned down by a rival neighbourhood gang before the 5th.
It's another tradition that's largely died as the concept of community has died.

Precisely as planned.

Also, I don't know if people even still celebrate Nov 5th have bonfires anymore.
I even forgot it was Guy Fawkes day today

And it's soon the 8th birthday of the forum

I know but the Protestants here are usually of Anglo descent. That is why they celebrate the 12th July thing.

I watched some fireworks for 30 seconds outside my window, that's me done for another year

Fascinating

@guy faux thoughts?
