Ive been trying to lucid dream since like 5 years and was able to do it 3 times for like 5-10 seconds each time. Do you have some tipps that are not that common like reality checks etc?
Since you already know about dream checks I'm assuming you are trying the MILD technique, I also started with that one and eventually went to master WILD, I wouldn't recommend going direct to WILD though, it took me like 2 years to even get it working once. I'm assuming that you already mastered dream recall, since it only involves keeping a dream journal as soon as you wake up..., but if you haven't, you should, it really help overall.
I've found that the placebo effect is your best friend in having success at the beginning. Don't worry about the 5-10 seconds thing, you can work on it after you've managed to get them more regularly.
MILD is not really about the dream checks, it is more about being obsessed with doing them and at the right times. I legit had a digital watch at the time that would vibrate with a reminder to check every 30 mins...
But what helped the most at the beginning was some preconditioning before sleeping, it sounds stupid, but just repeating "I'm dreaming" or "I'm going to lucid dream" over and over while you fall asleep makes an enormous difference. If you really want to try it, you should give it your all for 3 weeks, go on forums, read about it, think about it, set alarms, etc... it has to become an obsession at the beginning.
WBTB (wake back to bed) also has high success rates on beginners. You first need to learn how the sleep cycles are distributed while you sleep, there are smartphone/smartwatch apps that try to help you track it by measuring how you move, or you could record yourself one night and then just play the recording at very high speed noting the REM cycles. Alternatively, you can just try an alarm and move it backwards or forwards after on every next night until you hit the right moment. The idea is to set an alarm near or before a REM cycle, you"ll notice that when waking up from such deep sleep you'll be extremely tired, then as you go back to sleep you try picturing going lucid or repeat "I'm dreaming" over and over, you will probably fall asleep within 1 or 2 minutes, and it usually goes very fast straight back to dreaming, then perform the reality checks as usual and get lucid.

There are also specialized electronics that can help you achieve lucidity. Most in the form of goggles that just look at your eyes and measure when you are at REM and then flash you with LED's (usually a distinct color, not white light), You'll be able to see the light inside your dreams and use that as a trigger to perform reality checks. You can build them on your own if you want, there's lots of DIY tutorials for those. An alternative is to use a smart lamp or a timer connected to some lamp to turn briefly at some time during the night.
