just take a lower dose. i like it, it releases serotonin without neurotoxicity like mdma. when the trip is too strong take some benzos with it

low doses are even worse for me somehow because i feel slightly insane and unstable instead of completely detached from reality.

I've had good and bad psychedelic experiences. The bad ones were horrendous, i remember completely forgetting my name and i experienced what they call 'ego death', it wasn't pleasant for me. If you're in a bad place mentally i wouldn't recommend it.

I've also had good trips when taking shrooms. It's a much more natural trip imo and it feels more organic if that makes sense. I would definitely try and have some benzos on hand if you can get them. If things start going south they can be a godsend in halting a bad trip!
