If they didn't know you from their school years, then it's hard to berfriend them. Unless you are extroverted and have a social circle or either hot girls or guys who have status. Basically, when your over 21 you have to have something of worth for people to even consider you in their circle.

In any event, I agree that making friends gets harder as you age. Then again, I was mostly a loner growing up. And took pride in it.

Being alone isn't much of an issue by this point.
