Hello.
I have decided that the forum isn't for me. I joined a few weeks back because of my loneliness and thought I can get support through kindred spirits - I was mainly looking for what members here term as 'whitepill' exchanges. Unfortunately, most of the interactions I had triggered me and fuel my anger - something I don't want to get back to.
Alternatively, I also had really kind conversations with a number of good fellas who are going through equally tough times and still decided to be empathic towards me. I really appreciated the goodwill and comradery.
Also IRL, my circumstances have changed a lot since I joined here - I started earning, I have two friends from my book-club now, I am in a public setting 45 hours in a week - something I didn't have for the last 6 years.
Going forward here are my plans:
1) I am adopting a cat from the shelter next weekend - I will complete my first month of employment in 4 years.
2) If for the next 6 months, I will continue to show improvement - my brother will pay for my Career Counseling - I want to get back to working in a white-collar job eventually - let me at least utilize my STEM degree to some extent at least.
3) I want to lose 25 kgs - I have already lost 10 kgs - in the last 1 year - which is good-news.
4) I also learning to cook for myself - simple-things like pesto pasta, sandwiches and lentil soups - keeps my mind off from dollar-stores grease.
5) I might sign-up from a Data Science Masters Programme at the local university sometime mid-2024 (they have a fantastic reputation of good recruiters coming in every year and a solid alumni network) - let's see what happens.
6) I will go for camping with my brother sometime in March, I trying to get fitter for that.
So here are what's going on - I hope everyone all the best with their life and goals too - god-speed.
