I fall in love with literally any girl, and I have a strong tendency for stalking. It would sound very strange for an unknown man to ask for a hug, even more so for someone in my hierarchy. 
Yes; a HTN or above asking for a hug would be easily explained away by him showing "confidence" and assertiveness...
