I prefer to pray alone, but the bible does mention we should worship Him in a group as well, hence why many go to church on Sunday.

Well it isn't mandatory, but it's preferred. The Bible tells us to not participate in religious practices, so you don't have to congregate on Fridays, but it is a good idea for your spiritual walk.
