So what is false religion and how can you distinguish it from true teachings.
First is that religion teaches that you should follow rules and do certain things without any guarantee of success. However her in the Bible in Luke chapter 23:39-43 we have Jesus making true promises.
" One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
This is very clear language and a clear promise from a God who keeps his promises. Here is Numbers 23:19
"God is not man, that he should lie,
or a son of man, that he should change his mind"
Many religions say that Jesus was a wise man but in worldly religion they steer clear of saying that Jesus was the Son of God. Here in Romans 10:9 we have another clear promise from God .
"Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
One thing that makes true Christianity different from other world religion is that Christianity is clear that man is estranged and alienated from God and if man does not repent they will be lost forever. However a clear plan of salvation is offered to gives us deliverance. Colossians 1:21-22
21 " And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, 22 he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,"
Here is Isaiah 59:2
"But your iniquities have made a separation
between you and your God"
Here the Bible is clear that man is not right by God but also that Jesus paid all your debts to God in his death and suffering and that through the cross you are made clean in the eyes of God.
Corinthians 15:3-4
3 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures"
Here are some things to think about in an educated world where any man can chose any religion. Many teachers will sat that you must fix your life first and then God will love whereas the Bible says that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Also stay away from religion that encourages extreme withdrawnness to tells you to be a monk. Or religion that says that you are saved by your works or good deeds.
Most important is stay away from witchcraft, magick or any secret society, for these may offer temporary benefit but with them always comes a curse. Do not even go to a witch for healing because with it will go a curse!
