Yes from what I've seen, including my unattractive fat dad who married my attractive mom, I think an unattractive man needs to be at least very neurotypical, and preferably money/status too.

On the contrary, due to AI arms race between China and US,engineers and AI researchers are more valuable than ever. Looks are important for social and romantic life, not for the jobmarket. Your physical shortcomings can be tolerated if you're really good at what you do.

If you're average or below average in terms of talent you won't be tolerated obviously. But if you're really good at what you do your looks can be ignored. Most engineers, scientists, etc. are not Chads.

Can be ignored by whom? Society will make slaves out of you if you just have technical/intellectual talent. I mean, yeah they will certainly pay you, but you will forever live outside of society, unwelcome in parties, gathering, weddings, and what not, all because of your physical subhumanity. You will live like an untouchable, and indeed that is what happens to all the STEMcels.

Yeah, that's why I phrased it like that. No one is really close, but if Europe, India, or someone else wanted to try to close the gap, getting as much talent would be the first step to do it.

I understand that. But Tao would be treated much more harshly by the normies without his status as one of the world's leading mathematicians. Status can shield you from normie brutality to an extent. Tao would be treated better than an average chinkcel in parties, gatherings,etc. (assuming these are professional/academic events and not random normie gatherings where no one knows who Terrence Tao is).
