It was just puberty. I didn't grow until I was 16.
He most likely didn't have it as bad as he says. You can conceivably get mogged or bullied by older kids even as a Chad but that doesn't mean the Chadness isn't there, it's just your age that makes you vulnerable. That's not gonna last long though. By 18 he was probably dominating everyone else around him.

Literally every Chad/male model spouts origin stories about how he overcame being unnatractive as a kid. If you actually look at pictures of them when they were younger, you can tell easily they have Chad genes, the only discrepancy is that they're lanky or overweight, the two most easily overcome barriers to chaddom. Their idea of "working hard to earn everything they've got" is just cruising along with their naturally high T and HGH levels and reaching the physique their body always intended for them.
You don't need any of those to not be an incel. Simply being average is (still) enough for someone to not belong here.
