Getting called ugly as an adult is so brutal

Its so base and primal it awakens all those horrible school memories again. It strips you of whatever confidence and self-assurance you've built over the years. You drop straight back to base 1.

Its not supposed to happen. Its an irregularity. Adults are supposed to mature and you're supposed to be outside the crosshairs of kids/teens. So when it does it completely shatters your world. Absolutely brutal.
