what is having a dog like? i have a cat but i havent had a dog in a while. will it make me less depressed?

It is quite nice they make you more active and provide a lot of physical touch to the touch starved people we are.
Getting a pet scares me due to the commitment it would take. If I got a dog and it lived 10 years then I would be in my mid 30's when it dies. I also don't have the energy to keep the pet occupied so I would feel guilty.

Having a dog is like having a toddler you cannot communicate with. You will need to constantly supervise it to make sure it doesn't shit all over your house and destroy your shit.

i've only had labradors so it depends. will it make you less depressed? probably. think about it carefully though, different breeds, male/female (i'd recommend male), ages etc. start with an older dog instead of a puppy, they're higher maintenance.
We had a dog until she passed away. Of course it depends on how you raise it but having a dog can be great way to release oxytocin and dopamine, they can motivate you to go out, they can at least partially feel the emptiness in your heart.
dogs are great. also little girls love dogs I think I should get another dog I used to have one but he died of old age
hes already annoying the shit out of me.
