Instead of blaming the state of the economy they'd rather blame men. Fact of the matter is that there is no labor shortage. Also, for the last 20 years, governments have been pushing more Keynesian economics which includes stimulating the economy and especially the public sector. There are way more women working on public sector than men.

Also I remember seeing data which indicated that there are going to be a lot less male dominated jobs in the future than female dominated jobs. The inverted demographic pyramid means that there's going to be a drastic need for more people working on the health sector, which is mostly female dominated.

Its funny, but not really surprising, that the people who suffer the most from this economic situation, are the ones being blamed for it too. As if its the fault of young men that the economy is like this. Just blame the victim. If its 20% of young men, then you can't blame it on the individual. This is a structural problem. But, because men aren't seen as human beings but rather as human doings - its going to be blamed on them.
