I stopped playing GFL because I missed the special equipment during the VA-11 event. Is it already too late to rejoin the game? I heard there's fancy stuff like neural upgrade and I wonder if that has shifted the meta enough to make my girls useless.

Way too many MMPORG games featured and not enough sandbox or adventure type games on places like steam and GOG now ngl

No, It is definitely not too late, I joined a couple months ago, and never got to get any of the dolls from any of the collabs, I even missed one of my favorites Gunslinger Girl, and I would have loved to been able to have Henrietta on my echelon.
Besides the collabs and events, There is nothing you really missed.

The neural upgrades vary because some of them are very good (As Val an MP5 for example.), and turned the shit dolls completely around, Also the main story dolls like M4, AR15, and SOPMOD get Neural upgrades.
So I would say it will make your girls better then they already were
Some neural upgrades arent even worth touching.
If you are a returnee, You can go to the Gamepress for guides, they helped me out a lot when I was first playing.
Also Ceia on Youtube has some good info

tbh game vendors have done a clever thing making more interesting games operating system specific and less interesting games playable on all operating systems. It would be apparent to people if all games were operating system specific but instead it's only the interesting ones that are.

This was mainly before coronavirus though. Now they aren't even releasing many interesting titles even for specific operating systems. Over for online gaming copers ngl

Okay after logging in for the first time in two years I finally remember why I quitted the game. I got at least 6 echelons with lvl 90+ dolls that were as meta as you could get. Then I got owned by Judge over and over until I learned there's nothing I could do unless I had Negev (don't hate Jews but I just don't like her that much). Not getting Sei from VA-11 was the last straw.
Anyway, I got easily carried to chapter 11 with the whales that still remain on my friend list (with their lvl 100 fairy and MOD3 M4A1/AR15). I'll keep farming until I get my oathed AR15 and UMP45 to MOD3.

What's your UID (in digits)? The app doesn't support search by nickname.

Wait Judge? What Echelon comp were you using? I remember beating her with The LMG's and SG's from the story.
There isn't much need for negev, I can show you a video of me beating her for reference.

You don't need to spend money to get AR-15, M4A1, and Soppo to Mod 3, You just need the FOB Combat reports you can get monthly (around x2000 I think.), EXP mode (240,000, If you just use three dolls they each get 80,000 each.), and a maybe a fuck ton of 0-2/0-4 grinding.

Maybe I was checking out the wrong guide. Most of the guides said Negev was necessary iirc. I don't remember what comp I used, but it's likely the same MG/SG echelon that's been running logistics for years when I came back; it has PK, MG5, USAS-12, Gr MK23, M2HB. All 5x linked and mostly maxed out. The dps wasn't enough to take Judge down before my SG dies. Maybe I should have tried with a 2SG/2MG/1HG comp. I invested too much in my bamboo squad instead of spending the cores on x5 my SAT-8 and KSG.
