Gaming is dead. Playing older games gave me an appreciation to how even though the graphics are dated in today's standards that they had "soul."
Now games are just copy and paste and they expect you to be ok with it because it has "good graphics."

One of the saddest butchering of one of the biggest video game franchise in the world is Diablo.
Diablo 1 and 2 were creepy and it felt like you were vulnerable and the game kept you on edge with a dark foreboding story.
There was no damage counters or micro transactions. No cartoonish graphics. No deluxe edition to purchase or other nonsense.

Diablo 3 and 4 completely ruined the franchise. They look like cheap knock off top down mmorpgs with zero creepy factor or a story worth staying a while to listen.

I mostly played Diablo 2 but I remember the atmosphere and music being phenomenal. I miss that. I don't think any game in the last 10 years has come close.

Shit, I'm old. Make that 15 years.

Yeah the old diablo 1&2 was infinitely superior to diablo 3&4.
They no longer have the original team who were behind Diablo and what made it so special. Diablo 4 looks like a reskinned version of Diablo immortal , it's that bad. Yet normies seem to gulp it up and splurge all their cash on Diablo 4.

Diablo is about being a hero who's struggling to save Sanctuary from Diablo and his other demon allies. It was never about being overpowered and trying to get high damage numbers like Diablo 3 and 4. I can't believe they even put in damage numbers like a MMORPG. How in the world did Diablo 4 even sell well. It's nothing compared to the dark scary world that Diablo 1 and 2 built on. They completely destroyed Diablo.
What a waste of a beautiful franchise.

I actually am not sure about playing it again... I've kind of had no interest in playing games lately. But it's kind of you to offer to play with me and I appreciate it a lot.

3 and 4 definitely have that attitude about getting as powerful as possible and making the game basically trivial. I'm sure in Diablo 2 people played that way but I played single player and I had such a good time just immersing myself in the world and experiencing it. I loved the aesthetic of act II, the desert and underground dungeons, etc. Was all so nice.

I remember fighting bosses would be so tense and I'd be so scared to die, and if I did die I'd actually be a little shaken from it. In newer games it's not such a big deal, they're so fast paced that you don't even stop after dying, just respawn ASAP, get back to where your were as quickly as you can, and keep going.

I also remember Andariel was wearing a thong which I thought was super hot and I had plenty of good moments pausing the game to get a good look at her ass. It was right when I was in the middle of puberty too.

Go play Xenoblade Chronicles 1 through 3 and then come back here. Gaming is becoming more based as long as you aren’t playing Xbox Or PlayStation.
