Early game rewards were good since those were the times where actual nerds were presenting their works.
I look at the game awards and see creatutes that do not resemble gamers but your average normie or even a mogger.
Of course they skip over good titles and go for what the masses praise and got the most sales.
For example my personal game taste is far from what the normie likes. I did not find myself enjoying RDR2, GTA slop and most of the mainstream garbage praised as "peak" games.
