I hust searched "sense of beauty is ingrained into humans" yk, that famous rehab room phrase JFL.
It seems pretty good.
Normies are unsalvable. The comments act as if this is a great thing. To them it is. They don't seem to comprehend the implications that someone's entire looks and how they're seen is decided by random chance.
Well, not by random chance. By the genes of mom and dad.The comments act as if this is a great thing. To them it is. They don't seem to comprehend the implications that someone's entire looks and how they're seen is decided by random chance.
I'm tired of this sentiment. Evolution also hardwired in us the ability to rape and murder. Humans are a complex species because they can reason with biological urges. But clearly humans still aren't stopping animalistic behavior.Evolution hardwired you to find certain things beautiful because once upon a time they increased your ancestors chances of
survival
I agree. The appeal to nature argument is almost always stupid. Evolution doesn't "care" about rape and murder, it only "cares" about successfully passing on itself to the next generation with (hopefully) improvements.I'm tired of this sentiment. Evolution also hardwired in us the ability to rape and murder. Humans are a complex species because they can reason with biological urges. But clearly humans still aren't stopping animalistic behavior.
100% symmetrical faces are indeed uncanny, but I don't know if it's true that humans enjoy imperfection. Humans seek chaos and uncertainty as stimulation and relief of boredom (among other things), but I don't know if we could root this in a desire for imperfection.Humans also enjoy imperfection. A 100 percent symmetrical human would be uncanny.
