Exceptions actually do disprove rules, unless by a rule you mean a
statistical tendency.
If 2+2 = 4, but you can show a proof that it's not and verify it, be exception you've disproved all of mathematics.
One of the most commonly used mathematical proofs are by showing any single result which shows contradiction.

I am sorry if I offend anybody, and I know most of us are just hyperbolic, but just because most women don't date manlets doesn't mean ALL of them don't. Associations and correlations do not equal direct causation, especially not in a statistical study context with N<100. Everyone has a
chance to ascend, by merit of science.
As a matter of fact, most accurate scientific articles (meta-analyses) with N>100k show that:
body attractiveness > voice pitch > facial attractiveness > other.. matter most in getting a sexual encounter.
Height, surprisingly, was one of the least important factors. And even then, all r < .12; so it's not like it's not that of a huge association.
