A school isn't really a school anymore, but rather a zoo where the teacher is the warden desperately trying to keep the different animals from attacking each other in the absolute best case scenario where (s)he takes the job seriously and has the proper authority to enforce the will (mostly older boomers that people call fascists/authoritarians, but that enable incels at least a partially calm existence due to keeping everyone in check).

But most of the time the teacher is either a) too inept to do anything about it (like most modern holes in the teaching job - they maybe want to do something, but with certain people their sociological/positivist/pacifist/pedagogical/pro-rehabilitation whatever de-escalation shit just won't work, they fail to realize that civilized treatment should be reserved to civilized people, these are btw mostly the same people who think that police work would be better replaced by social workers), b) doesn't care (in the case of most teachers who become delusional about their own future prospects and the sense that their job even makes) or c) outwardly encourage it in the form of a PE teacher (worst form of boomer) or a cool chad teacher (that will identify with a good looking Chad/Tyrone, but not with a bullied Melvin).

you're right about the anti-authoritarianism, the world wars (for western europe) and fall of communism (in eastern europe) broke the spirit of many parents, since then they've never trusted their judgement and their own parents judgement, ever since then they've very selectively enforced rules and decorum, always picking the easiest battles, like shitting on their low-status sons, while letting their daughters and high-status sons run wild
