True, but they can still give you an idea of which groups are similar to each other + the Wikipedia article mentions multiple studies which might be a bit older, but which still show that those haplogroups have been present and widespread in the country for a few millenia.

You are using one specifically for Southern Italy, I just thought that using a broader one for the entire country would be better, since in those types of discussions, nuance gets lost very quickly. Yes, some coastal populations in Sicily, Southern Italy, Western Anatolia and so on, which have been interconnected for centuries are genetically similar, especially so since . That doesn't mean that the entire country of Italy doesn't overall cluster with the rest of Europe genetically, or that most Italians aren't most similar to other Europeans.

We can throw around whatever studies we want and convince each other of whatever we want, but IRL, almost all Italians except some southern ones (and a good number of western Anatolians as well) would just be seen as white people. That's it.

But even so in your attempt to look cool and smart Israel is close to Italy. If you were honest about this and used southern Italy Israel would be more closer.

Israel is routinely and constantly described as a white-European colonial settler-state existing in a land which its inhabitants have no link to, and frankly, it's not that easy to refute those assertions. Even ignoring that, this is another reason why I've said that not all of those Wikipedia studies are outdated per se, since multiple ones there mention that the highest portion of European maternal DNA in Ashkenazis comes from Italy, so makes sense that they show up as similar.
