PS3 UI was great. They did the same with the PSP.
They also had a "prototype" of this for the PSX.
And before you think I mean the PS1. NO! I have no idea what faggot came up with calling the PS1 PSX, because the PSX is its own console.

I remember getting a PS3 a few years ago. I didn't have it back when the PS3 was popular and my "friends" played it (incel trait), so I bought one in around 2018 to see what was all the fuss.
What a fucking clunky piece of ass. Once I started the softmodding process, I found out that vanilla unmodded PS3 was a nerfed computer, which gave you little to no control on how you use it. Even with games from that era, the file sizes were absolutely huge, I believe one of the ratchet & clank games there was 20 or 30 GB (!!!!!). Fuck that shit, I'm glad I skipped it, and I sold it in 2021.
Similar with WiiU, although the time window was shorter. I admit that I liked the standard controller the system came with, sometimes you could be on the sofa or bed, and comfortably playing it in just that screen, and it was interesting for emulators. But eventually the novelty wore off and I sold that too.
I miss Sega Genesis/ Super Nintendo era where you just pop in a fucking game and start playing.
EDIT: I didn't care about consoles after the WiiU after this experience, and reports from other gaymers confirmed my suspicions/predictions. When I help the Nintendo Switch at a store (the original one, not OLED or other variants), I felt like I was gonna break the thing apart.
