I wish that they bothered to actually finish the thing :feelsseriously:

That jet would look sick, but other planes like the F-35 and F/A-18 can easily do its job plus I heard it was gonna significantly increase the cost of the project so they abandoned it.

Woulda been cool probably. Idk anything about this stuff ngl but I would probably agree with you if I had any idea what this was

F35 isn't a bomber and the F 18 is getting quite old now tbh tbh. Plus notice the size
F 22 and fb 22 large

Stealth tactical bomber, sort of like the B 2 spirit (you probably recognize that one) but this one is more smaller and based on the F22 raptor.

If you look at the FB-22 its primary goal was to strike enemy ground target without getting detected. The F-35 can do that role but carrying less munitions and F-35 can defend itself from aerial threats. Plus can you imagen the cost for maintenance and spare parts for that beauty.

Technically it can but if it wants to carry multiple munition types it will lose some of it's stealth capability, as you can guess dumping a gbu 12 on a dirt bike is quite wasteful.

Exactly, it's important to discuss what kind of threat are we facing, like do they have modern air defense systems or just mountian gorillas that have DSHK or 23 mm AAA. If we are talking about deep in enemy territory strikes againts modern air defences instead of risking a pilot I'll rather use drones or cruise missiles.

I just like the idea of combining attacker and bomber into 1 role.
For example whilst the use of the Phantom was the exact opposite thing it was created for during the Vietnam war, it still performed rather well, after they adressed some of the "problems" anyways. It turned out that the little plane meant to shoot down massive bombers was also a pretty good bomb truck. Who would have thought eh? Just like that a fighter-bomber/CAS plane was born.

F-4 is a good plane but after the 60s the US went for a different doctrine when it comes to thier fighter jets, instead of speed and payload capacity, maneuverability became a recruitment and then stealth futures for thier jets. There is a balance between these 4, you Can't increase one of them without sacrificing the other. Cost is very important to get Congress approval
Btw it's nice to know a incel who is actually interested in millitary technology cheers.

Ye same, not a lot of people (any) seem to be interested in it for whatever reason :feelsbadman:
manuverability
Which is odd considering now that missiles are developed to a good enough level where a sudden sharp enough turn won't throw them off, i can't really imagine having super close dogfights these days. None the less a man can dream that one day we will get those massive payload planes back eh?

Same, close dogfight are becoming rarer each decade. Since precision technology is getting better each year there is really no need to able to carry such weights. I mean F-15E is pretty good and the US is planning to upgrade it. Idk maybe in the future we might see a return of that concept. But I have some doubt about that. Btw do you play DCS?

Nope, i don't have any controllers or whatever to make it plausible for me to play it correctly honestly.
