I've always hated the original Metroid, not gonna lie.
I prefer SMB3. It took everything good about the original and just built upon it. One of the best 2d platformers of all time, only rivalled by SMW.
SMB2 originally wasn't even a Mario game. Still, good game nontheless.

Same. I've finally managed to beat it a couple of months ago. Laughably easy final boss, expecially if compared to the previous one.
The haunted room is probably one of my favorite bosses in gaming, period. Really original.
