I do like this game but at times the dialogue gay and retarded. The leftist writters at Obsidian want you to believe that in mere 200 years everybody except a few people turned into a reddit atheist. But Joshua Graham is still based but i don't like how they made the Courier canonically a reddit atheist while faggots say that Obsidian unlike Bethesda in Fallout 3 didn't create a backstory for your character and you could be whoever you wanted.

Yea the writers probably meant for the Courier to be an atheist although you can get the bible later on the dlc from Daniel. You can't interact with it though you can just have it in your inventory. So i guess this is how they make you chose if your character is religious or not.

Throughout history, most people have lived in unstable shitholes where famine and violence were commonplace. This is one of the reasons why they believed in religion: to cope with their harsh and unforgiving reality. It is only relatively recently that most people in industrialized countries have been able to live very comfortably and no longer have to worry seriously about dying of famine, disease, war ect. I don't think that it's coincidence that they have also become irreligious.

And as for violence, nothing suggest that our present time is less violent than the past.
I didn't research it, but if I had to guess, I'd say society is more violent now, simply because of modern weaponry and population density.
