I'm 5'8 and weigh around 146 pounds so I'm not fat but I still wanna lose a little excess weight.

An average man is supposed to have around 2,500 calories a day, so having about 2,000 a day should lose a pound or two a week in weight, but I always considered just fasting for 2 or 3 days, losing a bit of weight quickly and just concentrate on keeping it off. Some people who have done this stated they lost around 5 pounds in weight in 3 days so that could get me down to around 150 pounds but whilst doing it they felt sick, had headaches, hunger pains and lighheadedness. I dont know whether it would be worth it.

There are also a lot of myths around fasting, it doesnt decrease your metabolism, you wont gain weight, it wont eat away at your muscles unless you leave it for around 4 days.

So I dont know, right now im doing the 2,000 calories thing, ill keep you posted about my weight loss. Have you tried fasting?
 
Just do cardio and burn more calories than you take in nigga, it's really not that hard
 
fasting is dieting for me. i stick to 1000 calories a day and burn about 1000 each time i use the gym(3-4 times a week)
 
Fasting does not burn BF. Mixed Cardio and weighlifting is the aswer and just try a balance diet instead of fasting.

The idea is its a way to lose weight when you dont have to do too much cardio, obviously you can go for a run everyone knows that but im thinking alternatives. Some people dont have the time to go to the gym twice a week.

I have and it works extremely well. You should try intermittent fasting (not eating for 16 hours a day) and consuming all your food in 8 hour intervals. You end up consuming less because your stomach is conditioned to require less food and shrinks accordingly.

I generally don’t eat anything till about 12-1pm and my metabolism has massively improved due to more balanced insulin levels. We evolved to go without food for extended periods of time, and it is the optimum routine for bodily function. My focus has improved massively as well.

Nice one, Ill give that a go. I usually end up skipping breakfeast and eating at 1 or 2, but then in the evenings I just snack on so much shit hah. It just takes a bit of self control.

Yeah it does. For some reason the evening is the most pleasurable time to snack, but if you can get you dinner out the way early then the effects are there to be felt if you can stave of hunger till afternoon the next day. Once it becomes routine it’s not even hard any more.
 
Of course it works. Only lazy fags use the starvation mode or muscle loss excuse when it comes to fasting. If you're not an oldcel you won't lose any real muscle and you can lose a shit ton of fat. Drink a ton of water and you can lose about 5 lbs of fat a week and probably 10 lbs total including water weight. Do it for just 5-7 days water/coffee/tea-only fasting at first.
 
Fasting will kill your metabolism.
Remove all the sweets, bread, pasta etc. Eat only meat and veggies, drink only water 2-3 litters a day, walk 60 minutes and you are golden.
 
Fasting is low iq if you want to lose weight. You will feel miserable and time seems to go incredibly slow.

Just work out and diet is the best way.
 
I do mild calorie restriction for longevity. Calorie restriction is known to increase life expectancy in monkeys by a lot.

On my workout days, I eat normally and with extra protein.

On all other days, I eat less than half of the recommended calories.

It probably harms my muscle mass upkeep, but I haven't seen any strong diminution of muscle mass so far.
 
Basic physics. Calories in calories out. Fasting works but go for 500-1000 calories diet instead.
 
male, 5ft8, 155lbs and age 20(im guessing ?)
(Basal Metabolic Rate)
bmr = 1760

(bmr) x (days of the week) = (cals burned per week) / x
1760 x 7 = 12320

(lbs you want to lose) x (cals it takes to lose a lb) = y
15 x 3500 = 52500
(y) / (x)
52500 / 12320 = 4.3 weeks
(cals you eat a day) x (days of week)= z
2000 x 7 = 14000
(x)-(z)=(q)
12320 - 14000 = -1680
(y)/(q)= (amount of weeks it takes for you to lose the weight)
52500 / -1680 = -31 weeks

Although this doesn't include the number of cals you probably burn from walking around (which could easily add up to around 350cals, depending what you do in a day). it doesn't look like you'll be losing much weight if at all.

You should eat less than 2000cals (1600cals) but in the correct foods such as protein and fiber. While avoiding foods such as quick carbs (white bread, cake).

if i was you i would focus on working out and trying to tone your body rather than just losing weight, but it is a place to start.
