I remember 10 years ago when only literal kids and social outscasts watched anime, you went to the conventions and apart from the attention whoring cosplay foids you didn't see good looking or "stylish" people kek. But nowadays with anime like Attack on Titan, Kimetsu no Yaiba, My Hero Academia, Jojos or Tokyo Ghoul even this marginalized fandom has become a normie interest with many in the fanbase claiming to have a succesful social life, girlfriend, etc. Before if you said you watched anime people directly laughed at you, now people don't care anymore. Good and bad at the same time I guess

And if that wasn't bad enough, many times the fucking hypocrites will still make fun of us for our hobbies, even if they are partaking of those hobbies, themselves.

Heavy metal was always normie shit. When I got to interact with real metalheads they were pretty much your average normies just with interest in more obscure music. Even black metal which was supposed to be introvert is nowadays plagued by boring people who don't even grasp the idea it's trying to convey — they just like how edgy it sounds. I had one guy cancel our band's rehearsal, because he had to take his girlfriend out.

As for anime, I know one zoomer who is the literal embodiment of a 2020s weeb aka high tier normie with first sexual encounter at 17 yapping about cute anime girls, things being based and redpilled and wanting to get some weeb clothing, but "not too weeb, because he's not a basement dweller". They seem to simultaneously take from this subculture and hate on its roots.

Some of those idiots will look down on old-school stuff all the time, too, because it's not "heavy enough," or "brutal enough," or "fast enough," or the vocals aren't "low enough," or the recording quality might not be the best out there (and I'm not just talking about garage recordings, either, I mean they'll shit on anything that isn't as clean as the average Ozzy album).

For example Monster, we all know the foid didnt like it because she understood what childhood trauma, having no meaning in life and no identity, and how it it develops into nihilism and just going with life. No, we all know she liked it cause she thought datk triad Johan is cute.
