Unfortunately the gender ratio for almost all western countries is 1.05 males/1 females for groups under 40.
This means there are 5 percent more males than foids. As groups age the females begin to outnumber males substantially, especially in EE.

The richer a country becomes the lower the male mortality rate. In poorer countries(africa) males die at younger ages. Naturally there should be a 1 to 1 ratio but nature has accounted for males dying in high numbers in every age bracket.

Norway and Iceland are not in the EU - only participate in the single market via the EEA agreement. Switzerland have a separate set of bilateral agreements with the EU enabling them to access the single market. Croatia aren't in the EU at all. Turkey have a customs union agreement with the EU.
