Well your assumptions are wrong, that's why.
A 4/10 ethnic is not the match of a 4/10 white. Darker skin is seen as unattractive, lighter skin is seen as inherently attractive. A ugly white couple can still produce an alright looking child, just by virtue of the child not being deformed and light skin. An average ethnic couple can produce a child who is considered unattractive, just by virtue of being a darker skin tone.
You can show girls an image of the exact same guy except the skin tone and hair/eye color changed, and the darkest (I'm talking heart of africa black, not some greek tan) will almost never been chosen over the lighter instances.
What some people don't seem to understand it's the skin itself that is an unattractive feature. Having ethnic shaped features is not the entirety of the equation.

I'm saying skin color is a contributing factor. Just by virtue of having light skin, you are perceived as being more attractive than if you looked the exact same but had darker skin.
