I want to take a step in the development of myself, I want to master a second language, as a poor Egyptian 20 years old man, I will try to learn the language from youtube videos, applications, and watching some films.

I don't know what is much better in the labor market, English or German, I need to save at least 60,000 dollars or euros to build a good future in my country (Buying a good house and a basic good car).

I am okay with English but I have a big weakness in vocabulary and l look like shit when I talk with it (not write it). I learned some about the basics of German in the high school but I forgot some (consider me as a new in this language).

What language should I start to learn and will help me making money whether online or when travelling?

English, more German speakers speak English than English speakers speak German

Improve your english before learning any other language.

Do you live in Egypt?

Can I be good in It If I took 2 hours learning per day for a year (like B2 level)

Yes and I am Egyptian
You need to marry an Israeli and get citizenship in Israel then use that citizenship to move to America and then get a green card there by working

Well, yes, I guess that's a good amount of time. But since you're learning from apps and the internet, the quality of your learning won't be that good. Better than nothing, though.

God I would kill myself if i bordered Israel, Sudan and Libya

I mean at least I can work or deal with people with that language, I am not able to pay hunderds of dollars to master language throught paid courses

Focus on your English. It is one of the most popular languages. Use translator frequently to reinforce your vocabulary memorization.

That depends where you’d like to work but I’d say English is definitely best. You will find fluent English speakers just about everywhere, especially in Europe and East and South Asia (and of course in Anglosphere countries). Certainly the best language for business but even for a simple laborer too.

130 million German speakers worldwide (with most concentrated inside Central Europe itself) vs. 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide

Bro I promise your English is good

I have a lack of vocabulary (sometimes I use a translator to be able to complete a sentence or to know a word in English) , also speaking is bad but I have a strong base

You’re better than you think you’re bro :feelsaww:

I would say constant exposure and immersion is the best way to learn a language, since you are more likely to be exposed to English, and you already have a decent base in it, I suggest that you continue with English.

Just watch YouTube videos in English 24/7 ig, post long paragraphs on .is, or read book or something

English is more important.

u already speak english, so getting more into it won't give u much of a return for the time u would have to invest to seriously get advanced. my english also isn't advanced but i don't give a fuck cuz i grasp everything, and that's enough for most people. i'm a native german speaker, and i can tell u that the grammar and syntax is much more difficult than english, which is very simple in it's structure & hence easy to learn. the pronunciation of foreigners speaking german is also cringe for natives in many cases, so if it'd be incredibly hard for u to learn proper german, especially when u don't even live in a german-speaking country.

just learn french, it's quite easy in comparison to most other languages.

English is more useful

Look into language transfer, it helps bridge some gaps.

Too many people speak English so German will give you far better opportunities but it's also way harder to learn.

It is useless tbh
German give much more chances than french
