I am starting to hate what the internet has done to discourse of any kind. 15 years ago few people heard of psychological projection except for maybe students of psychology, but nowadays it is not uncommon to hear someone drop the "you're projecting" bit to sound smart in an argument. No one used to know what autism was but now people casually drop the word "autist" in lieu of saying "retard" or will say you are "on the spectrum" to sound EVEN MORE ERUDITE. Today what set me off was reading reddit and seeing a comment by another user lamenting that Valve isn't making Half Life 3. The reply was word-for-word "you sound entitled, Valve doesn't owe us anything". WHY IS WANTING SOMETHING - ANYTHING - CONSIDERED ENTITLEMENT ALL OF A SUDDEN? This is what pisses me off. Not just that people use these words to make themselves sound smarter than they clearly really are, but the fact that they don't use the words in proper context. "Projecting" just means "no you", "autist" means "nerd" or "neckbeard" or "neurotic" or whatever I want it to mean, entitlement apparently means you have a soul and aren't a fucking emotionally blunted automaton without any desires. I wish these goddamn stupid assholes would just shut the hell up and stop trying to sound smart all the time. There's an old saying that goes "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing" and it's very much true.

I wish people talked in simple english more often. I'm not saying you can't use long and complex words, but if you are going to do so, make it sparse throughout as well as words that the majority of the population understand. I often see this in famous 'intellectuals', Jordan Peterson is a good example, who use words that the majority of people can infer the meaning of but are really only used to make them sound more intelligent.
