Discussion Dr's keep wanting me go to support groups

Dr's keep pushing me to go to/ give support groups a try for my mental disabilities

Anyone did support groups and what was your experience ? Or are they pushing people to do it for some reason I'm not aware of ?

I’ve been asked to give support groups a try in the past. I never have and I never will. Pointless, futile.
