What these people who are promoting Down syndrome and discouraging prenatal testing and abortion of it fail to realize, is that these are the "luckier" individuals with Down Syndrome.

People with Down syndrome can have a whole constellation of physiological disorders or be so severely-retarded that they are vegetables and Down syndrome individuals are prone to developing dementia at a very early age.

This is why Down syndrome is something that should be routinely tested for and the fetuses terminated because many of them can look forward to a life of misery and endless medical complications.
