I had a couple different extended family members with down syndrome and autism, and they caused such a drain (both physically and financially) it ruined most of their siblings lives too. The only person that I know who had a downy sibling and still had any measure of success was a Chad well over 6' tall, and even then he is so fucked up he can barely hold a janitors job and can't keep a gf interested for long.
