"Don't compare yourself to others!" - People say all the time. The truth is: Everyone compares themselves to others all the time and you hear that empty platitude either from losers that are pacified cucks and therefore content with their social position or from the extraordinary few that are actually winning in life due to being blessed by fate with good looks, intelligence and neurotypicality and therefore have already won in life without any kind of struggle.
"Life isn't a competition!" - That's just worthless bullshit. Ressources are limited and when someone succeeds others don't have access to the ressource occupied by said person in the moment (like mating partners, jobs and other things). Winning means that someone else has to lose - that's the principle of the game called life. The only thing that matters is your perspective - are you in the position of the winner or the loser? When you find yourself in the position of the latter you can either try again and again in some kind of sisyphean task until you succeed or you can try to change the rules of the game until they suit your needs by accumulating enough like-minded individuals around you and then forcing change by words/actions. Good is what benefits you, bad is what doesn't benefit you - what's good and evil only depends on perspective - every person thinks that way although the cost-benefit-analysis can include different factors (like conscience and emotional distress) and come to different conclusions.
"That's a deeply troubling/capitalistic mindset!" - no, it isn't, even if there was total economic equality (like in communism) people wouldn't be equal and would still do comparisons between themselves and others (but only based on other factors). That's the funny moment when it comes to leftists: They deem themselves as losers in the current system and that's why they try to change the rules - just like all humans they want to change the game until it benefits their group, they just do it based on money because that's what they deem as their weak spot, they have no problem with the same game based on different parameters.
Last but not least: You always compare yourself to others based on mental/physical capabilities and emotional happiness, people (like me) would still feel envy/hatred against those who are in a better spot. You wouldn't change anything, you would just change the parameters where comparisons/competitions happen.
