Japan executes 'Twitter killer' Takahiro Shiraishi, the first death penalty in the country since 2022
The 34-year-old maniac found depressed and suicidal girls on social media and invited them to his home, promising to "help them die" or commit suicide together.
According to investigators, the Japanese man pumped his victims with drugs and alcohol, and then raped, killed and dismembered them.
The case was solved in 2017, when the brother of the 23-year-old last victim began a personal investigation after his sister went missing. He logged into her social media and discovered that she had written on Twitter about looking for "someone who will die with her." The "Twitter killer" responded to this message: "Let's die together."
After finding out the maniac's address, the man contacted the police. During the search, nine dismembered bodies were found in Shiraishi's refrigerators and boxes.
