Do bullies target nerds? Or Is being nerdy really just the result of the combination in ones social pecking order/status with the learned fear response to constant aggression.
The inevitable results of being a nerd:
A) Outcast or Incel
B) Submission or Soyboy

It has long been know amongst anthropologist that individuals assign their craft according to their peers craft to form a varied group of specialist. In a small community you only need one smith, one woodcutter but several hunters or farmers. Is it far fetched that outcast of past would have been assigned solitaire crafts within the local unconscious?

This is what I am thinking. People don't turn STEM because it is intelligent. They do it because it is recluse work and they were but in the recluse booth by peers because low SMV. Tbh, it's both. I think that true nerds will pursue their interests regardless, even if they do get a taste of normie culture. However, for many victims, nerd culture is the only place they are safe. Concerning the point in the bold, for all the hate incels get, taking a stand against society is actually very high T

This is the sad truth, it's exactly what normally happens. Professional success demands conscientiousness and motivation, which you most likely won't have after years of being bullied.

To a certain degree, but mostly in high school. If you are socially normal and not aspie you can be somwhat popular in elementary as I was. In high school I became the nerd, not because I wanted, but because I wasn't good looking enough to not be.
