ON reddit or TikTok, sometimes people insist the manga was better than the anime to which I am confused. How could a few drawn pieces be better than a high quality animated piece?

There is a lot of isekai manga that has no anime adaptation yet. I also read a lot of Korean and Chinese manhwa/manhua, they are better than Japanese because they don't put romance in everything, you can read about the overpowered mcs.

Except for some older shows, the anime is basically just a teaser to get you to read the manga, where the true, full story is.
I eventually started always starting with mangas and only watching the anime versions of the mangas I really like that had them (which is rare, since I tend to only like obscure, short ones).

Not much anymore my desire to read has diminish with whatever ambition I had
I’ve read a few manga. I think it really depends on the manga series. A lot of anime change the story completely like Rosario+vampire. The manga is completely different story than the anime which only has two seasons.
