Most people aren't Chad. Others have to amass wealth and status which takes time. Men are polygamous and serially monogamous. One partner for life is not natural.
You are underestimating the importance of women for men. Most men live for their women. If women disappeared tomorrow all hell would break loose. Society only protects them because men are biologically hardwired to think they are valuable.
