Obviously rapes happen and some rapists would keep trophies as memorabilia but they'd keep those panties in a box to retain their scent not hang them on some tree exposed to the elements.

If ever there was a 'rape tree' it was probably some BS thing a coyote did to scare women into compliance, they probably weren't all panties from rape victims but rather used as a tool to coerce women into the sex industry, ie the rape tree creates rape but does not actually document it.
